Del mismo modo que la ciudad contemporánea superpone capas de información como un sistema complejo e interactivo producido desde la acumulación de acciones y experiencias múltiples, simultáneas y a menudo contradictorias. También un proyecto puede superponer simultáneas “capas” ó “estratos” apilados.
Son estructuras que a pesar de su aparente impresión de desorden ó arbitrariedad que transmiten, poseen, sin embargo códigos internos ajustados a reglas de formación elementales.
Por ello a la hora de realizar una nueva propuesta debemos crearnos un nuevo sistema operativo donde existan un conjunto de leyes que permitan funcionar y desarrollar este entorno físico. Por tanto habrá que proponer un nuevo juego de estrategias que nos ayuden a dirigir las operaciones y, a continuación desarrollar tácticas para el proceso de desarrollo y evolución del proyecto.
Existen en efecto, líneas invisibles entre las cosas, existe pues una matrix de relaciones, por lo que es preciso construir o reflejar la ya existente porque es real y vivimos en ella. Para ello creamos un conjunto superpuesto y entrecruzado de redes o mallas que aportan sentido y que están encargadas de regular en capas funcionales los diversos programas.
Para este tipo de estructuras necesitamos la línea, en este caso la línea potencial, que es la línea como figura de indagación.
En la propia arquitectura, la línea en sí, tiene una denotación arquitectónica. Esto sugiere que los atributos de las líneas ya existen en el mundo, que solo es posible revelar esas cualidades. Por eso lo único que se puede hacer, es reflejar esas líneas que ya estaban trazadas en el solar, y que vienen dadas indirectamente en el mismo programa, como son las líneas de deseo, las líneas de la mirada, las líneas de intencionalidad …, que poseen propiedades organizativas con consecuencias estáticas y dinámicas.
